We are thrilled to announce a Parish Finance Council Video Training Series has been created and is ready for you, your Pastor, and your Parish Finance Council! This training series targets the feedback received over the years that Parish Finance Councils are not fully aware of their roles and responsibilities and how they should be supporting the Parish and Pastor. Creating the Parish Finance Council Video Training Series is aligned with the Archdiocese of Denver’s mission, so that in Jesus Christ, all might be rescued and have abundant life, for the glory of the Father, by supporting the Pastor. When the Pastor is supported by competent business-minded lay persons, the temporal operation of the Church runs more smoothly, they are not plagued by problems, and undesirable outcomes are avoided (e.g., misappropriation, misuse of designated funds, etc.).
The training series is composed of five videos presented by leaders at the Pastoral Center covering the topics listed below. The videos will take just over an hour to watch with a short test following the fifth and final video.
- The Importance of Parish Finance Councils
- Why do Parishes Exist?
- The Role of a Pastor
- The Role and Purpose of a Parish Finance Council
- What it’s like to be on a Parish Finance Council
